🔬#MESExperiments 44: Dr. Irwin Moon Sends a MILLION Volts of Electricity Through His Body!

1 million volts at the normal 60 hertz or cycles per second frequency used in power transmission would be fatal, but at 65,000 hertz this won't (and did not) kill him.

In #MESExperiments 44 I have uploaded another one of Dr. Irwin Moon's experiments, this time his wildest one yet: sending a million volts of alternating current (AC) electricity directly through his body! Moon states that at 1 million volts at the normal 60 hertz or cycles per second frequency used in power transmission would be fatal, but at 65,000 hertz this won't (and did not) kill him. This is a demonstration of the electromagnetic "skin effect", which is the tendency of alternating current to move mainly along the surface of a conductor; the higher the frequency the further out it goes. Thus at ultra high frequencies, the current avoids penetrating the skin which keeps the internal organs largely unaffected. Nonetheless, I'm skeptical how safe this actually is...

Dr. Irwin Moon conducts 3 experiments in this video:

  1. Creating lightening via AC discharge through an aluminum cap.

  2. Creating lightening via AC through his body and discharging through metal caps on his fingers.

  3. Burning a 2 by 4 (2 inch by 4 inch or 2x4) wooden block via AC through his body and his hand holding the wooden block.
