In this video I have uploaded a rare May 14, 1993 presentation of the Hutchison Effect and its history by Professional Engineer George Hathaway, a business partner and direct witness to the effect in the early 1980s. George details how John Hutchison discovered the effect and how they worked together, alongside his colleague Alexis Pezarro, in hopes of attracting investors. George also goes over some of the strange metal samples, and outlines the electrical circuit for major components of the lab setup. I have also included a highlight reel of the 1988 to 1989 Hutchison Footage at the end of the presentation.

The Hutchison Effect was very transitory, and had to run the test for days before periodically seeing results.
The radio frequency (RF) equipment caused electromagnetic interference on TVs and other electronics up to a half mile radius, so John had to run the lab at night.
John improved the 1981 hours between affects to up to 30 minutes in 1989.
The lab was powered by single 110 volt, 10 to 15 amp wall socket, using some high storage capacitors which would release high energy via spark gaps.

Van de Graaff generator produces 150,000 to 200,000 volts at microamps current.
Small Tesla coil powered by twin 807 vacuum tube oscillators and produces a clean spectrum pulse.
Spark gap continually arcing every 40 seconds or so, fed by a 15 kilovolt direct current (DC) power supply. It's about a 0.1 microfarad capacitor with a wire gap across the terminals.
High voltage enters the system at 21 kilovolts DC through capacitively coupled toroid coils.
Double ended dumbbell Tesla coil.

Main tuning section included a number of high voltage capacitors up to 15 kilovolts with a few picofarads. The y control energy into the primary of the large Tesla coil.
Large Tesla coil is about 4.5 feet tall with a secondary wound with many hundred turns of fine wire. 21 turns on the primary and about a 1.5 feet diameter of number 8 enameled wire.
There is a brass ring around the bottom of the large Tesla coil primary which is fed from one of Tesla's discharge coils, which is basically a double iron core coil.
There is also a snapping gap capacitor which charges up similar to the spark gap, which fires every 30 to 40 seconds. Gap opening is about 0.5 inch or so, and fired up to 10 to 15 kilovolts. This ultimately charges a toroidal coil around the top of the large Tesla coil which is not connected to any of the primary or secondary.
The primary of the large Tesla coil is also powered through a very loose passively and capacitively toroid coupled coils from the main high voltage supply.
However, there is no active powering of the large Tesla coil. It is powered simply inductively or capacitively through near by toroidally shaped coils.
At the top, hanging from the ceiling is the double ended dumbbell shaped Tesla coil. It has two toroidal single turned primaries and multiple wrapped secondary with two large 6 to 8 inch domes on both ends. The secondary one of those is connected to the capacitively coupled toroidal coils stack.
